Adventures on Hump Day

Yay! We survived two primaries in SC and the one in NC. (When SC people hear NC is voting, they call us and ask why their precinct isn't open or voting... #BecauseYouLiveInSC) hopefully, work life will calm down for another month and a half.

I took today off. Was supposed to go flea marketing with Pop but instead we ended up in the ER last night and got home about 2 am. He went to the dentist with an abscessed tooth (is that what you call it?) and received some antibiotics. But suddenly late yesterday evening his face started swelling quite badly. Off to the ER we went.

I could spend quite some time discussing the sadness that is the ER. So sad. We arrived at 9:30 pm and left at 1:30 am. Our "room" was actually a trauma room of some sort with a curtain wall dividing us from our neighbors. Just the two groups in this makeshift patient room. So we could hear their two year oldish girl singing and dancing barefoot and eventually lying in the nasty floor on a blanket sleeping, the mama bursting into tears every so often, and the doctor telling the man his vitals look good but he needed to check into rehab tomorrow morning. That he was the third addiction case he'd seen tonight. Please pray for these people. He admitted he'd been to rehab three times before and the dr encouraged him to keep trying-it was worth it.

Dad got two shots of antibiotics and a prescription for another. Since mom, dad and I were the late nighters and I knew they were worn out, I took Macy on an adventure today!

First we visited my friends at my old job. That was fun. Then we the at a meat and three. She gobbled up applesauce, slaw and mac & cheese. Gobbled! After a quick shop t Hobby Lobby for Easter crafts, it was playground time!!! This 3-year-old was as tall as a 6-year-old! And he had glasses, too. And some serious issues they haven't discovered answers to yet. Praying for them, too.

Of course you gotta have a cookie after playing so hard! Rainbow cookie-devoured. Then a quick visit wih the Easter Bunny brought us back home. To PawPaw who had missed his girl.

I am so excited!! We have an appointment with a photographer, who's work I adore, this Saturday. In a peach orchard. Tons of Pink flowers! Yes!!! I so hope the pics turn out beautiful! Excited!!!!

She is Spring with the flowers in her hair. She gave all of us flowers for our hair. :) I know it looks like I only love her, but she's easiest to get photos of, an she is very lovable. ;)

Went to a conference at Myrtle Beach last week and really enjoyed it! Lots of great election-related information that I found interesting. Loved the #selfiespot outside the restaurant we ate at and would love one for our office during election season. I'm brewing up some ideas.

Ok I think I'm finally tired enough to sleep. Let's hope so, it's 2 am! Night and sweet dreams!

2014 Wrap Up

2015 has already been quite eventful, and I haven't even had the chance to wrap up 2014 yet! So let's do that before 2015 totally overtakes me and I just blow off the 2014 wrap up all together.

January - It seems I started doing a photo a day in January.  Here is the first post. I'm not sure how long this lasted - I guess we'll find out as I move through the year.  I kinda hate I quit because it's great to look back and see what you were doing on a day by day basis!

February - February brought snow to the South.  Yes, we kinda lose our freakin' minds when it snows because we don't see too much of the fluffy white stuff around here.  So photos galore and happy children playing in the snow is the theme of this Photo Challenge Wednesday.

March - I was pretty darn happy in March.  The ice and snow melted and Spring slowly started to emerge.  Lots of fun photos of pretty sunsets and flowers and all things nature. And sweet niece voting! See more here from one of my Photo Challenge Wednesdays!

April - I love otters, did you know that? I think otters rock! I also love Spring, flowers, mild/warm temperatures, and cuteness on babies. :)  April I only posted three times - all three Photo Challenge Wednesdays, which I find impressive.  Check one out here.

May - Spring time photo shoot with the chappies!  Sweet niece #1 is a perfect princess to pose for photos. She is really photogenic, too.  Sweet Niece #2 ... well it's a bit harder.  You can check out some of the pics here. Just looking back over May, I can see how work was pushing me under without a breath, trying to drown me!

June - Things got ugly in June.  June was sickness for me and about 8 doctor visits?  June was sickness and emergency surgery for my sister, too, which was obviously stressful.  And an election, which is what my job is all about.  Read some here, which was written before we realized she would have surgery.  It also shows photos of my house all cleaned up!, thanks to the goodness of my mom and sister. But there was a lot of good in June, too, as this post shows. Painting party being one of them!

July - Let's finish up the medical drama, including mom getting shingles, in this first post.  You'll also get fighter niece! HI-YA! And then, because I know no one wants all that drama, I shared fun photos of both kids and great scripture verses.

August - Ahhh... August.  With August came EDISTO.  (Or Edislow as it's called).  Man, if we all didn't need a break to soak up salt water mist and melt into warm sandy beach.  Yes, Edisto is good, and you can see how good here and here. I also got crazy crafty with my LOVE canvas here and the office-grown pumpkin, fru-frued up for the fall holidays, which is featured here. :)

September - It's my birth month! But during an election season - yeah, it's not as much fun.  But I got Downton Abbey so WHOOPIE!  Also took Baby Sweet Niece to a pumpkin patch - loads of fun! Check it out here

October - Man I love autumn and the beautiful leaves of the season.  Love it.  Enjoy lots of it here. And a stroll down a Friday's Letters Lane here

November - This is a very excited Ellie! She's part of this Friday's Letter! Along with Shrek, Sunsets, Macy baking cookies, ... all kinds of funness.  And one little Thanksgiving blog with no photos here

December - Obviously, the Election is over bc I finally caught up on Halloween and Thanksgiving here!  A new kitten appeared in this post "Run Faster, Catch Up With Life!"

And I think I will end it there.  Of course there were dozens of posts outside of those highlighted here, but eh, that's the past! Onward to the future! :) And to the first post of 2015! :)  Thanks for joining me on the journey.

Springtime Photo Shoot

This weekend was totally beautiful, so I of course, worked in my yard until I could barely move. This is after waking up before 6 a.m. to hit yard sales with mom.  I was a whooped puppy.

This is also why I had no patience in trying to take photos of one wild rambunctious child.  The older sweet niece was wonderful - she's so photogenic and so good to work with.  The younger sweet niece is a little tougher. And, OF COURSE, it was her photo I needed for her birthday invitations.  Argh!

The first attempt was right after church and she did pretty well.  She's having a Hello Kitty party, so we wanted her HK to be in the picture.  But that animal is HUGE (a gift from one of my cousins, because it was too large for their house!!) haha.

The second attempt was after her nap and she was in a GO GO GO mood. Run run run run toss the ball toss the ball run run toss run run run toss SQUEEEALLLL!  Yeah, you get the pic. :)

And this one pretty much sums up the photo shoot.  The older sweet niece looking great while the younger one screams at the top of her lungs with her balled up little fist.  Yup.  That's a wrap.

Photo Challenge Wednesday - 13

I can't tell you how happy I am to see warmer temps, even if it is only for a few days. It's been great :)

So let's start with Wednesday and see where his past week has taken me!

Wednesday, March 26 - Just when I feared I would have a random boring photo, I saw this blimp on my way home! I'm not sure I've ever seen a blimp!!! I have no idea what it was up to, where it was going, but it was exciting for me. :)

Thursday, March 27 - I am a rebel - I turned my calendar early. Since I ADORE otters, I was tickled to see one for April! Visit Susanbranch.com for more cool stuff.

Friday, March 28 - How cool is this book? One of those great pieces of history. And this rabbit - I won it at the Tea Cup Auction. A local church puts together all these items with tea cups by each one for you to put your tickets in. This is one of three things I won!!

Saturday, March 29 - Look who finally has a ponytail!! Lol. Saturday's plans were scrapped when my friend got stuck on a last minute out-of-town project. But it's all good, we'll plan it again. I pretty much rested on Saturday, which felt really good.

Sunday, March 30 - Saturday & Sunday both I had this odd abdomen pain so I didn't do much Sunday either. But I did make more felt animals, which resulted in orders for animals! Woo hoo!

Monday, March 31 - Do you know how hard it is to leave when baby girl is crying that she wants to visit my house? So I promised she could visit after work. She runs in, starts dancing, then runs to my bedroom and yells, "Jump On The Bed!!" She discovered my Hello Kitty boots and fell in love :)

Tuesday, April 1 - I hate April Fool's Day and I'm glad no one pranked me. But look who did visit the office, Little Miss Natalie! Adorable?? I think so! What a sweetie. :)

And there's my week in a recap. It's now time to test up before another work day tomorrow!! Thanks for following this journey with me!!!

Spring is in the AIR!

Yes, Spring is finally making a grand entrance! Which means beautiful blooms, colorful blossoms and plenty of pollen. Already my eyes feel swollen and my nose is drippy.  But who cares! Beautiful weather is here for the week, crazy highs in the 80's which is WAY over the norm, and snow/sleet/ice is nowhere in sight. Whew.  So thankful. :)

I'm addicted to Cherry Blossoms, did you know that about me?
You can buy this here.
Yesterday, walking home from my parents house, I wanted to run up and hug the Cherry tree in my sister's backyard.  I planted it there several years ago and it's really grown to become a beautiful tree. It's so full of light pink blossoms, it's just made to dream underneath.

More Cherry Blossom awesomeness.  HERE
I wish I had the guts to do something like this in my bedroom.  Granted my bed backs up to a window, so I'm not sure I could do this directly over/around my bed... but the walls beside it maybe? Hmm... Anyway...

IT'S SPRING!  Ohhh... I'm so happy to have warmer weather - so happy to see sunshine - so happy to see flowers and colors and happiness! EIK!

Ok, so yeah, that was basically all this post was about. :)

Photo Challenge Wednesday - 12

What day is it???  HUMP DAY! ... and Wednesday which is Photo Challenge Day! :) Woop Woop!  It's kinda fun and confusing at the same time to post these in the middle of the week, but since the year started on Wednesday, I've kept the weeks in line with that date.

Let's get started, shall we?

Wednesday, March 19, 2014:  Heading for H.O.M.E with a peaceful sunset.  Ya'll have seen this church several times, I think it's just a cute country church close to home.

Thursday, March 20, 3014:  Wow, I didn't realize how snap-happy I was on Thursday.   :)   We were preparing for a Saturday election all week, with a steady stream of people coming into the office to vote.  I decided to Spring up the place with flowers. Also, it drew attention to our award - the office was voted Outstanding County of the Year by our state association.  :) YAY FOR US!

It was nice to see some Spring blooming - granted since then we've had another freeze so I probably damaged everything.  Pooh.  That night, Donna and I went to her local high school play, Grease, which was fabulous! Those kids do such a great job.  We always enjoy their plays.

Friday, March 21, 2014:  Sweet Niece #2 came by to visit while her mama voted absentee.  Katie was actually the last absentee voter! I can't even explain how much work goes on behind the scenes to hold even the smallest election... but it's alot.

Saturday, March 22, 2014:  Election Day! Left the house at 5:45 a.m. and didn't get back until 10:15 p.m. So... it was just by luck I took this photo to send to my sister-in-law.  It's a very crappy photo of my scrapbook, which I was working on during the slower times of the Election.  :)   While I like the concept of Project Life, I've got to learn how to be more creative with it.

Sunday, March 23, 2014:  BOTH SWEET NIECES ARE HOME! WOOP WOOP! I so enjoy having time with both girls, they are just too sweet.  I sent this pic to AH's great-grandmother, in hopes to cheer her up (she lost her sister this past week. I can't imagine having a sister for 80+ years and losing her). Please say a prayer for her.

Monday, March 24, 2014:  Thankfully, Spring is really beginning to show out! I love it! Blooms are on all the trees, the Yellow Belles are covered in blossoms, the rose bushes are pruned (thanks Mom!) and starting to show new growth - the world is waking up again.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014:  I know, you've seen this barn before, too, but I can't help it. I'm fascinated by it. I had to pull over on the side of the road and take a quick pic, the wind whipping my hair in a million directions.  Katie thought I was broken down with car trouble, only to realize I was just crazy to take photos in this cold windy weather.  But I finally got the shot I wanted. :)

So now it's Wednesday again and today's photo will show up next week.  I'm debating ordering some magnets of these more scenic photos from Sticky9.com especially since they have a buy 2 get one free deal.  But do I need 27 magnets of random photos?? Hmm... not too sure about that. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Ok, let me run.  Hope your week is going well - drop me a hello so I know you are out there. :)
