Disappearing Act

I know, I know, I disappeared for a while there and took some time off from blogging. I'm sorry, truly, but I just needed a break. I'm so sad and I miss my Muffin cat. Mondays are worse because I miss Muffin Mondays. :( I never realized how my life revolved around one overweight cat until she was gone.

 Immediately after losing my sweet kitten, the family packed up and headed to the beach for a week. Holy cow, I had no idea how much energy would be zapped out of me by an 11-year-old and a 1-year-old. Wowzers. I've been home since Friday night and I'm still so tired my eyes are crossed. I must say, I live alone and I didn't realize how much I loved my house until I wasn't there for a week. So as much as I loved vacation, I loved coming home, too. Enjoy some pictures of my family enjoying some beach time together!

Folks, I'll try to get back into the habit of blogging.  I have missed ya'll and keeping up with your blogs.  I just haven't felt much like myself and I have just been lazy lately.  Recuperating is what I'm calling it... :)  Glad to be back! 

Muffin Monday - The Last Hurrah

Well folks, I'm afraid this will be the last Muffin Monday.  She has never overcome her issues and still isn't eating.  Instead of watching her suffer as she continues to not eat, I've decided to put her down this week.  It's a tough decision, as you can imagine, but my vet has been wonderful through it all and respects my decision. My family has also be so supportive, knowing this has been my buddy for the past 13 years and is a very loved member of my household.

A sad posting, but I'm also relieved that she won't be in pain or struggling anymore. Such a tough decision.  *sigh* Such a rough decision.  But I truly feel it's the right decision.

So a lady came into the office this morning to work here for the first time. She'll be here for a week and we've never met.  Don't you know I totally lose it as I'm trying to email the vet and she walks in about that time? Yeah, that's my luck.  But she was so understanding since she had to put her dog down a few weeks ago, so we are now two peas in a pod. And then her daughter just texted that she's at the vet with her dog, which may also have to be put to sleep.  Sheesh!  We are all basket cases over here!

Monday Monday - Update

Muffin had a rough weekend. She's sick of me squirting medicine down her throat... well, she actually runs through the house spitting it out all over my floors. *sigh* Yeah, I'm in serious need of a mop job.  You know she's sick when she turns down tuna. Say a little pray for her, please?

The rest of my weekend, when I wasn't torturing the cat with medicine, involved visits to the hospital to see a coworker's husband, visiting with my friend, Donna, over dinner and catching Sweet Niece #1's dance recital.  She's growing up so fast!  Not only did she have a GREAT recital, but earlier in the month she earned her yellow belt in tae kwon do!  She's multi-talented! Go AH!

I almost didn't recognize her when she came up to us because she had her braces removed and got contacts within a week of each other.  So she's changed a bit!  We are so proud of her. She's really artistic, too, so she's got mad skillz!

Muffin Monday - Sick Kitten

This is a repeat picture, I know, but my sweet kitten isn't feeling well. She's been to the vet this morning, which is tramatic enough, had xrays, bloodwork, steriods, ... she's not feelint well at all. I'm hoping she's at home resting and the steriods will make her feel better.  Blow her a sweet kitty kiss for get well wishes, please.  She's my only baby... :(

Muffin Monday + A Bit More.

Happy Monday, my friends.

Muffin is happy because I finally found some MSM for her at GNC. MSM helps her tired ol' joints and really makes a difference in her ability to jump up on the bed and chairs. Everywhere I've looked has been out, so I'm thankful for GNC.  Granted, the poor fella in there who is taking a few too many of their supplements thinks mom and I are freaks for buying their products for our animals... but whatever. A happy Muffin makes for a happy Beth.


If you noticed, I kinda missed the Every Day in May blogging this weekend. I tried, but my attention span did not lend itself to following prompts everyday. So I'll do a few here and there until this month is over. But go enjoy other people's blogs. :)

I'm so very excited to see May end since my sweet niece #2 will be turning one in June! This weekend I worked on the giveaways for her party, clay bunnies made from air drying clay and a bunny cookie cutter.  This week I'm going to experiment with watered down paints to see how it looks. You know I'll let you know how it goes.

Sweet niece #1 was home this weekend! She was a HUGE help with the yard sale we had on Saturday.  What a great seller she is! And she's just hilarious with her running commentary. I don't think she means to be funny, but she really cracks us up sometimes.  Sweet niece #2 has a rotten cold and it's making her miserable. She's also teething, so you can imagine how happy she is, poor baby. She clung to my shirt this morning and just rested on my chest.

Muffin Monday.

Muffin was none too happy about missing her designated day last week, so I'm posting her pouting here today.  Ok, what's REALLY happening in this picture is she wants me to turn off all the lights and GO TO BED. She covers her face with her paws and does her best to ignore the light and the tv.  Why she doesn't just go into a dark room baffles me. :)

Friends, I don't know about you, but I had no desire to get out of bed this morning.  Obviously, Muffin totally agreed with this concept, too.  It's so cold, rainy, gray, nasty... let me please just stay in bed and snuggle under these warm covers please.

*sigh*  No such luck.

But I had a GREAT weekend, lots of Macy Mae time which always makes me happy. I make an awesome cake (I'll share it with you tomorrow), banana bread muffins, washed clothes, just rocked it. AND I completed a scrapbook order for Pressed Clovers! Woop woop! Imagine me doing the Cabbage Patch of Victory (it's a dance move... you'd just have to see it to understand it).

OK, It's Monday, folks. And we are going to have a good day. Do you hear me? YEAH! So go out there and WORK IT, feel good about what you are doing and SHINE! :)

Muffin Monday From The Road.

Muffin Monday from the front seat of a work van today, folks. Wer are heading to a local high school to help them with one of their elections.

So here is Muffin, sweet kitty, furring up my brown pants. She started off on the edge of the chair and actually moved up to better spread her fur on my pants. Love it.

Muffin Monday

This morning was a game of chase the cat until I got a clear picture of her. Here she is hanging out on the side of the tub waiting for me to get in. I decided to soak my back in hopes of relief.

How was your weekend? We did a tractor show this weekend, not that I know a thing about tractors, but we know half the people up there. Nicest people, it's good to see them.

I also had dinner with two sets of friends. One fellow on Saturday night, well you know him, Hayes that made the tasty steaks. He was coming through after a race and we met up for dinner. Good times. Last night Donna, Sister Beth, Ellie and I went to din din and fro yo. That little girl is smart and just hilarious. She cracked us up. And they gave Macy a "baby jail" to help contain her in mom's house. Exited!

Muffin Monday

Sometimes it's good to enjoy the little things in life, like a sunny spot in bed. Muffin was soaking up the rays and lovin' every minute of it!

Everyone around here is coming off Spring Break today, so this will be a rough one. Ya'll hang in there, the kids will be out for the summer soon and then you'll discover how rough Mondays can really be! Hee hee!

It'll be tough, but you'll make it to five! ;) I'm giving you spirit fingers to cheer you along!

Muffin Monday

Yesterday I threw all the windows open and let the house breathe a bit. Muffin was over the moon with happiness because she loves sniffing fresh air. In the second picture, she was explaining to me how she wanted just one chance at the birds outside the window. :)

Muffin Monday - GUEST

Today, you get a treat! Muffin is taking a break from being photographed and CHLOE has stepped in to help us out.  Chloe is my sister's cat, a large white cat with an itty bitty squeaky voice who just wants to be snuggled and petted constantly. 

To be a hefty kitty, she's definitely agile and can jump crazy heights.  Chasing moths is one of her favorite things.  And avoiding the dog in the house.

 I have no idea what this look is all about, but it makes me laugh.  I must have taken a dozen photos just to get these two. Just wanted to be petted and just refused to be still until I did show her some love and affection.

And this would be my sweet nieces!  I know I'm a bit late on the St. Patrick's Day celebration, but I love this picture from this past weekend.  Adorable? Why yes, I do think so.

I'm heading out of work a few minutes early.  We are selling all kinds of Macy stuff - we need some space and some money to buy her MORE STUFF! :)  Woop woop! Wish us luck!

Muffin Monday

While in Bama, I picked Muffin up a new scratchy pad, which came with fresh catnip. I'm not sure what catnip is or what causes cats to go psycho for it, but she tried to inhale the mat up her nose. Then manage to get her entire body on the pad. It was hilarious. She loved it and that made me very happy.

I'm running severely late this morning, so away I go!

Muffin Monday

I'm currently in Alabama, visiting a very dear friend. I miss my sweet Muffin kitty, and would love to share a pic with you.



She is hiding behind the curtain, which usually means she's doing something wrong! ha ha

My friend has two cats and two dogs so I've gotten plenty of pet lovin' this weekend. My family had loved on Muffin for me. :)

I'm also missing my sweet nieces. One I missed until her visit back her again. The other I'll see as soon as I get home. This are the pictures they sent while I was away:

500th post!! & Muffin Monday!

It is SO fitting that my 500th post be a Muffin Monday post. I can't believe I've actually written 500 of these random coversations with myself... 500! So excited!  Muffin isn't quite as excited, as you can tell.  This is her normal look when I'm home ... she wants to be near me, but wants the lights to be turned out.

When I first started blogging, I set it up to be my own observations and memories jotted down as a record for my own use. If anyone followed along, it would be great. And if they didn't - that was ok, too.  But I do have a small group of folks who follow (thanks ya'll!) and another group that receive emails and reader messages (thanks to ya'll, too!).  I don't have a theme, no cooking theme or fashion theme, but just everyday living inside my skin.  So I appreciate ya'll joining along for the ride. :)

Happy Birthday, Sweet Niece!

Sweet niece number one turned 11 this weekend... 11! How could this be! AH came into our family when she was 7-years-old and my she has grown. I'm so proud of her; she's smart, funny, quick-witted and pretty.

Muffin Monday & Snowy Weekend

Warm Kitty, Sleepy Kitty, Little Ball of Fur...

Muffin's reaction to Downton Abbey last night.  Mine was much the same - HOW COULD YOU! Then started whamming my head into the floor. Heaven help, how could they end my show this way. It was one of the tear-jerker episodes last night and I'm still tore up about it.

This was our adventure on Saturday trying to drive home from the wedding shower.  I'm a South Carolina gal and understand, we don't typically get crazy amounts of snow. But holy cow, Batman, it really came down fast and furious on Saturday.  We went from driving with just a bit of drizzle to no longer being able to see.

The roads were getting covered so quick we couldn't tell where the edge of the road and the ditches were, so it was kinda exciting.  Then the windshield started icing up, despite the wipers and defroster.

Mom was driving so I snapped pictures.  This one below is getting closer to the house - how pretty is the house and trees!  But you can really tell how dark and cloudy it got. And I can't stress enough how QUICKLY it happened.  HUGE fat wet flakes coming down so fast, it was crazy.

Below is my parents house (they live behind me) and you can see how it cleared up and become a beautiful day the next day.  I walked over to their house for a tasty breakfast of biscuits and honey. Yum yum!  So there you go, pictures of a Southern snow. :)

Muffin Monday!

Oops...I have no idea why the pic is posting twice. Double ticked off Muffin for your enjoyment! Poor Muffin. She's really isn't happy with me taking pictures this morning. That lump she's laying on is me and she really wants me to be still, pet her, and turn the lamp back off. Instead I'm wiggling around to take her picture. She's not amused.

Now I need to move her so I can get up and get ready for work. Ya'll have a good one!

Muffin Monday

This would be Muffin's way of "helping" me work on books this weekend.  She cracks me up - I had placed this one piece of red tissue paper on the bed and she immediately claimed it.  As soon as I heard the first crinkle, I debated taking it away, but knew her claws would destroy it anyway. She has played and laid on this single sheet of tissue that I'm glad I just let her have it.

So my final decision last night:  I started off with the game but when the lights went out, I switched over to Downton Abbey.  I just wasn't impressed with the commerials this year! So disappointed.  More companies need to let their fans make the commercials like Doritos, those were pretty funny.

Good game towards the end when the 49ers finally caught up.  It was a bit of a nail biter at the very end, thought they might have tied it up, but nope.  Congrats to the Ravens. (We won't mention I had to ask someone where the Ravens were from, I don't know that I've ever heard of them!)

Muffin Monday - Guest!

I know, this isn't a cat at all! It's BIRDS! This is what I look at out my back window as I work on scrapbooks and such.  Muffin is usually on the bed, watching out the window with me. :)  It's so peaceful as they fly about, nibbling on the birdseed.  The bottom picture, do you see the bird coming in for a landing? They were really nice and restful to watch.

I needed restful.  Seems that the picture I linked to in my Friday's Letter post (pic of Ja'Brie) was replaced some time over the weekend with a large photo of an oiled up booty stuffed into a small thong.  I about choked when I saw it because there was nothing I could do about it at home. No internet access. SSSSoooooo.... I was literally stuck with this booty decorating my page.  Guess that's what I get for linking instead of uploading. Granted, if  my booty was as nice as that one, I might be tempted to oil it up, stuff it in a thong and take pictures of it (and you believe that, right?).
